ETFO Honorary Life Membership Award Application 2025-2026
PROCEDURES

The application must be received by ETFO no later than February 1, 2026.
1. The Awards Committee is not a research committee. The committee will depend on the information provided by the local to establish the merits of any particular candidate as a possible award recipient.
2. Applications are processed by the ETFO Awards Committee. The committee’s recommendations are taken forward to the ETFO Executive for consideration. You can expect to hear regarding the disposition of the award after June 1, 2026.
3. Materials submitted to the Awards Committee in support of a nomination become the property of the Awards Committee and will not be returned.

CRITERIA

The Honorary Life Membership Award may be granted to an ETFO member who has given outstanding service to the Federation at the provincial level, and who has been retired from the education profession for one full calendar year prior to the February 1 award nomination deadline. Members who served as ETFO provincial President are automatically granted the award at the Annual Meeting following the last year of their term as President. Recipient(s) are honoured at the Annual Meeting, given an ETFO pin, and extended the rights and privileges of being an honorary life member.

The Honorary Life Membership Award(s) may be granted to an individual who meets specific criteria.

A member who has served as ETFO Provincial President shall have an Honorary Life Membership automatically granted at the Annual Meeting following the last year of their term as Provincial President. An application form does not need to be submitted.
Please confirm the candidate is an ETFO member [Teacher, Occasional Teacher, Education Support Personnel(ESP), Professional Support Personnel (PSP), Designated Early Childhood Educator (DECE)] who has been retired from the education profession for one full calendar year prior to the February 1st nomination deadline.*

Honorary Life Membership Award applications should reflect the following selection criteria. Please specify dates in the form.

In the selection of candidates for an Honorary Life Membership points will be awarded in accordance with the following criteria.

Applicants must have a minimum of 10 points to be considered for an Honorary Life Membership.
